Music lovers have two fantastic reasons to visit Newcastle this weekend as the Newcastle Summer Season entertainment programme presents the Brigid O’Neill Band with Special Guests

with Special Guests on Friday 17 July at 8pm, and The Diamond Experience tribute to Neil Diamond on Saturday 18 July at 8pm.

On Friday 17 July the Newcastle Summer Season is delighted to welcome CountyDown singer/songwriter Brigid O’Neill and her band to the Newcastle Centre stage. Described, as ‘a distinctive voice with sweet effortless vocals’ (Creative Voice NI), Brigid will be performing a mix of country blues and folk with a delicious dash of jazz.
Riding the crest of a wave following the launch of her acclaimed new EP, Arrivals and Departures, and festival performances including the Belfast Nashville Songwriters Festival, this show will see Brigid performing with a 5-piece band of top class musicians. As well as Brigid’s own heartfelt, strongly crafted songs, for which she has been steadily building her own fan base, she will be putting her own twist on some classics from the Great American Song Book, and the best of Americana from favourite singers such as Alison Krauss and Emmylou Harris.
Perfect music for a sunny summer evening!

Next to seeing the man himself, The Diamond Experience is the best way to enjoy the magic of Neil Diamond’s music. This fully live musical production features all the top hits from his best-selling albums, as well as songs from his latest release, Melody Road. Adam McDonald fronts this spectacular show in his tribute to Neil Diamond. The show includes favourites includingSweet Caroline,Cracklin’ Rose, I Am I Said and America, and the beautiful duet, You Don’t bring Me Flowers.
